The Format Drop - Oktober 2026

Every cigar in this pack has something to say about the way it is built.

October is the right month for this. The evenings get longer. You have more time. And when you have more time, the format of a cigar starts to matter in a way it simply doesn't on a busy afternoon. A Gordo breathes differently than a Lonsdale. A Laguito No. 6 takes you places a Robusto cannot.

This month we leaned into that. Four cigars, four formats, four completely different smoking experiences. Same standard of quality across all of them.

The Concept

Format is not just aesthetics. It changes everything. The ring gauge determines how much air and heat move through the tobacco. The length controls how long the blend has to develop. A wider cigar tends to be cooler and creamier. A longer, slender one more concentrated and complex.

We chose four formats on purpose this month: a commanding Grand Toro, a broad and powerful Laguito No. 6, our own house blend in Toro Maduro, and one of the most elegant formats in the cigar world, the Lonsdale. Each one gives you something different. That is the point.

Inside the Pack

EGM Cigars Poderosos - Laguito No. 6
EGM is a Ticino-based brand producing Dominican Puros. The Poderosos is their biggest and most ambitious cigar: a Laguito No. 6 format inspired by the legendary Behike 56, measuring 166mm in length with a commanding 56 ring gauge. Every leaf comes from the Cibao Valley in the Dominican Republic, one of the most respected tobacco regions in the world. Wrapper, binder and filler are all Dominican, all handmade in the long-filler tradition. The profile moves gracefully from medium to full-bodied as the cigar develops, a slow journey with real depth. This is not a cigar you light between meetings. It is a cigar you make time for. Pairing: A glass of aged Cognac or a single malt Scotch. Something with its own complexity and patience.

HYSA Cigars TGCP Edition Maduro - Toro
The house blend, and this time a special one. The TGCP Edition Maduro Toro was created exclusively for The Gentlemen's Cigar Pack. A Maduro wrapper brings a natural sweetness and richness that sets this apart from the Connecticut version. The Toro format gives the blend the space it needs to develop properly over a long smoke. This is our cigar, made to our standard, available only here. Pairing: Dark espresso or a glass of aged rum. The sweetness of the Maduro wrapper plays well against both.

Furia Tisiphone - Gordo
Furia was created by Didier Houvenaghel, and the three formats in the line take their names from the Furies of Roman mythology: Alecto, Megaera and Tisiphone, the goddesses of vengeance. The Tisiphone is the Gordo, 165mm long with a 58 ring gauge. The blend is Nicaraguan across all components, with Habano wrapper and binder from Jalapa, and filler from Estelí, Condega and Ometepe, and one further origin that Houvenaghel keeps to himself. The Gordo format suits this blend well: it opens with notes of chocolate and cocoa, develops into a rich profile of roasted nuts, spice and fruity acidity, and finishes with a woody warmth. Around 90 minutes from first light to the end. Pairing: A good dark chocolate or a glass of full-bodied red wine. Malbec or Syrah works well.

Flor de Copán 8-9-8 Dalias - Year of the Snake (Limited Edition)
Flor de Copán is Honduras's best-known premium cigar brand, and the Year of the Snake is their first-ever Chinese New Year limited edition. The format is a Dalias in the classic 8-9-8 box configuration, 164mm long with a ring gauge of 44. The most distinctive feature is the double wrapper: two spirally rolled leaves in different shades imitating the movement of a snake, finished at the head with a pigtail curl that represents the tongue. The blend combines Ecuadorian and Honduran wrapper leaf, a Honduran binder, and filler from Honduras and Nicaragua. The result is medium-strength, creamy and elegant, with notes of wood, roasted coffee, dried fruit and a subtle sweetness. The Lonsdale format keeps it concentrated and precise. A cigar that is as interesting to look at as it is to smoke. Pairing: A cup of good filter coffee or a glass of aged rum. Something warm and unhurried.

Who This Drop Is For

For the smoker who wants to understand cigars a little better every month. Not just smoke them, but really feel the difference a format makes, what a Gordo does that a Lonsdale doesn't, why a Laguito No. 6 is in a category of its own.

If that sounds like you, October was built for you.
